I am looking for the recipe for Hornady 185gr JSWC .451 married with Alliant Bullseye Powder.

I do not have a Hornady reload manual...and they keep their bullet reload data very secret....lol

Help anyone??

Thanks

Inkdaddy,

I pulled this from their web page. http://www.alliantpowder.com/reloaders/powderlist.aspx?type=1&powderid=1&cartridge=35
45 Auto 185 gr Speer GDHP Speer 1.2 4.4 CCI 300 Bullseye 6.4 986

I assume the GDHP is a gold dot hollow point, a jacketed round. Any data for jacketed (not plated or lead cast) for the weight you have should be fine. For the OAL use lead cast data, plated or jacketed for OAL/COL. One reference states 1.135".

For SWC .45 ACP I try to seat the bullet about 1/32" from the rim of bullet as it seems to aid feeding which can be a issue in that bullet shape.

That was the only page that lists 185 gr in the manual. This manual only really helps with Hornady bullets most of the time from what I have found.

I can't help but dig at you a little about this statement? You know any decent .45 will feed anything, fire anything, shoot through anything short of an Abrams tank. :D
