This is the same as a Non gunsmith taking a firearm to far apart and cant get it back together and wants a refund!

Tough call on what to do especially since multiple people laid hands the firearm. You could meet and visually inspect the Colt for signs of tampering or damage since the sale and go from there. Your offer was more than fair.

There is absolutely no way to know what he’s done to it since he purchased it. You’ve been quite fair in your offer to pay to fix it. Case closed.

It can no no longer be in Pristine condition first..You have no idea how it was handed with so many rounds fired..You offered to spit a repair if needed. If I purchase something in that condition, I would dismantle it for a full exam first and I also if an investment would not fire it myself as well. You offered to help and he declined, end of story..

I had a Colt do the same thing. Gunsmith pulled the panel cleaned it all up and it was good to go. But I found it prior to sale. What concerns me is the new owner putting all that pressure on the trigger and other parts
