"Out of the clear blue of the Western sky comes...Sky King..." I remember well watching the show with his niece Penney and The Songbird. Thanks for the memory.

The man pushed a plane beyond what many pro's thought possible. Performed a maneuver that he was sure would put him in the ground but instead pulled it off.

Felt a good high right before committing to his original plan. The audio is pretty impactful. Regardless of your personal views on suicide, this man needed help, and it's a shame he didn't get what he needed in time.

Richard "Sky King" Russel stole a Horizon Air Q400 and after a lengthy conversation about his mental state with Air Traffic Control, did a barrel roll and then crashed into Kenton Island, subsequently taking his own life​

Gloria Winters, who played Penny, retired from acting after Sky King.
She lived a private life until her passing in 2010 at the age of 78.
