Thanks for the heads up on this product,
and the others who mentioned CCI Velocitor round.


I didn't know about those before, and I assumed that they were ultra-light bullets driven to very high velocity, but I see now they both involve a normal 40 grain bullet which I agree is the best choice for self-defense in a rimfire.

Pushing a 40 grain bullet at over 1450 ft./s, about 200 feet /second faster than most companies so-called high velocity loads, is significant.
I'd want that extra velocity for self defense use.


Here's a chronograph and ballistic gelatin block test on four types of CCI rimfire ammo. Of these, I like the Velocitor the best.
The segmented hollow point ammo, also recommended a couple times in this thread,
doesn't penetrate enough to suit me. About 5 inches is all it will go in gelatin.
I like the FBI's recommendation of 12 inch of gelatin penetration for any self-defense round.

200 fps is a significant # but truthfully its only significant in the rimfire for a little extra range.200 fps would be more significant for a projectile when it would weigh significantly more than 40 grains.I say this because 100 fps is roughly 60-65 mph,about as fast as the average"Joe"could throw it.I just dont think Mr. Criminal is gonna notice much more than"ouch"catching a 40 grain projectile twice as hard,as can be thrown at him.IMHO.

I was talking about the ammo but since you mentioned it you're saying the 10/22 will only reliably fire with "good" 22 ammo ? LOL !!!

You must be snake bit,cheap,or not know how to properly clean a firearm.Maybe all three based on your responses.I hope you mean on very rare occasion like the other 99.99% of 10/22 users.

Stingers are garbage. If you really want accurate HARD hitting .22 ammo get yourself some CCI 40gr SGB. - it is a lead flat point bullet at 1245 fps - shoots as good as Standard Velocity.

I ran a box stock 10/22 as a real life truck gun for 10 years. A conservative estimate would be 10k rounds before I bothered to even clean it. Operator error.
