New guy from Oregon

Hello, My name is Rupe (sounds like Loop with an R) I have just started to get into Old Mauser 8x57JS from the WWII era. I am a pistol hunter most of the time, but also shoot rifles as well as shooting and hunting with Longbows and recurve bows.
My wife and I do alot of exploring in our highly mod. 2007 Jeep Wrangler 2door JK.
We live outside of Christmas Valley, Oregon off grid in a 10x20 cabin. We started on a 30x40' cabin last year but have a long way to go before it is finished. It will be powered by Solar and wind with a propane generator for back up.
I enjoy reloading and working up loads for my firearms. I'm retired/disabled so I have lots of time to play with my toys. Problem is there is just to many toys yet to get and not enough money to get them all. :-)

Thank you for the Welcomes. We have lived out here for 5 years now and love it. Our closest full time neighbor is 1-1/2 miles away and you need a 4x4 to get out to the main road in the winter. It's awesome!
But after 5 years in the little cabin it's time for more living space. We out grew the 10x20' with
Mrs. Rupe, A Newfound/lab, Tri colored border collie, a cat, and a stuffed full mounted bear. We NEED more room! Hahaha

Yes it's real, but there's a lot of folks out there that think it's right down the road from Oz!
Sometimes I think it is Oz! haha
I live in the high desert at 4350 feet el. Nothing but Sagebrush and sand and 300 days of sun shine a year.
but the winters can get down to minus 50°, I've only seen it down to -28° F.
