just started my job as a armed security officer. We have to provide our own gun for duty. So with that said I don't have a lot of money and I need a good gun I can trust my life with. Curious if you guys know of any deals or anything like that for people in my situation. I know glock has a security deal where they knock off like 100 bucks but that's still to expensive for my paycheck. If this is in the wrong place I apologize.

Your common sense is your best weapon. Don't risk a bullet unless your making $500 / hr. If you do have to deal with hood rats a 38 will not suffice because every one of them is sporting larger higher capacity weapons than most LEOs. these days.
I guarded banks in college in the 70s & 80s & they provided me with outdated pistols then so I illegally carried my high powers with extra mags in areas that had been robbed often. Love my 586, 686s / but if if I was you & working near Sylvan Rd. for ex. I'm using my cc to at least
get a 92FS with extra 15 rd. mags. & even more important - a Vest.
