New Recce/3gun build

You fared better than I did. Last time it happened to me, I did the same back and forth thing. But the barrel nut was practically fused to the upper receiver. Both parts turned in unison on the barrel extension and wallowed out the alignment slot. First time it cracked, it moved slightly and stopped hard when the pin met the edge of the slot.

Question - did you ever get that thing from that person that was supposed to help in situations like this?

No. Last time I asked him about it (6 months or so ago) he said he still wasn't happy with the design. I'm not holding my breath at this point. Also, I suppose the Magpul BEV block could do the same function, though not a fan of that additional potential stress being just on the lug. I'd rather see it grab the rail on top of the receiver...wouldn't work for an A1/A2, though.

I think they cracked the code. I saw something from SHOT that looked like it was ready for production.

Her's how it's sitting for now: MBUS Pro offset irons, Leupold Mark 4 MR/T 1.5-5 in a Nikon mount (waiting on my VX-6 Multigun to ship), Surefire X300 Ultra, SJC Titan comp. I talked to SJC today and dropped off some parts. Thry feel confident they can build me basically a 51-tooth Titan so I can have the best brake/comp on the market and still be able to run my can. Very much looking forward to what they come up with! Until that's done, I'll be runningbthe plain old SJC Titan and using my DD SBR lower since the barrel is only 14.5. This is one quick-handling, smooth-shooting rifle!

I'm looking forward to seeing what they come up with on the comp. Rifle looks great, but I think you just convinced me that I need a set of offset iron for my new SPR build. Don't know why I didn't think about that before now.

Man, every time I try another low mag/variable scope on an AR I just end up hating it and going back to an Aimpoint. Ditched the Leupold 1.5-5, back to a T-1 on an ADM lower 1/3 mount. Swapped the offset MBUS Pro's for straight ones. Much better now. Can you say "Fast?"
