What type of weight are you looking for in a rifle? You know tack driver and light weight don't go hand in hand. Granted 12lbs is heavy even for an African game cartridge

ETA - There are plenty of aftermarket products for the Tikka. You don’t HAVE to get a Rem 700 clone to have options for tinkering.

I wish they had this in 6.5 PRC but the only cartridge that comes in that I would want the 300 Win mag. The 600+ LUX comes in a user friendly Barrel change feature. Really nice rifle. Read up on the barrel interchange feature. It has two screws that lock the barrel in like a pic rail type set up. Very interesting! You can't deny it is a beautiful rifle!
Rifles aren't all that critical for most hunting. It literally doesn't matter for the most part. The scope and mount are much more critical, but you didn't ask about that. You won't go wrong at all with getting the Ruger Hawkeye.

If you think you want a switch-barrel rifle, always check on availability and price of additional barrels.
Your sitting at a bench with a rest, it's not like your holding it up. More weight less recoil. You just want another gun right,,
