New S&W GRIPS? whatcha think?

I use to love wood grain in stocks and grips. Soon came to love poly and G10. I just dont mind as much if something hits them. G10s have some really nice patterns.

Poly has a great look and much more options for sure. I think the lure of wood is the detail of a handmade product from wood, though, with all the love and care that goes into them. It's more of an emotional product.

I have had and still have a few guns with wood grips and they are nice looking but, all the grips are in a box and have been replaced by G10s. I like the aggressive texture and I want to keep the originals nice. Other that being pretty, "I" think the benefits of G10 outweigh wood and some are even nice looking.
Its nice to have both options.

I agree with this. And you're right, wood grips will never compare to poly grips in um...grip (lol). They're great for when you just have to have the grip in your hand with no slippage.

But those wooden, handcrafted suckers....I think I kinda wish I had the skill to make something like that out of natural material (and I'm the opposite of a tree hugger).

Firewood I can build, molds I can fill, but ornately carved grips? Not so much. Must take years of practice!
