Just remember, today's High Power by FN isn't the same as the original Hi Power. They're trading on the name and look.
The great thing about FN releasing the new model is that it has moderated the demand for the original models (which are "Hi Powers" and not "High Powers") so you should be able to pick one up for less now than you might have five years ago.
Pulled the trigger (pun intended) today on several items, all on great sales.

I'm a big guy too. You'd be amazed at what can be pocket carried. Check out the S&W Bodyguard 2.0 in .380.
Yeah, it's a .380, but it's great.
My personal preference is an old NAA .22 mag mini revolver. I almost forget I'm carrying it, and it's better than nothing. The Ruger LCP II in .22lr is pretty good, too, but you get the usual issues with rimfire out of a semi-auto. Keep CCI mini mags in it and those issues are minimized though.
