New vs. Used

I am not referring to time constraints related to paperwork. I am talking about those who can not legally buy a gun and those that think the government is creating a list of gun owners via FFL paperwork.
those who "cant" buy a gun just get one still via regular channels, illegal or not. i dont see why they would pay a premium for non-FFL

Guns are not like cars.

If they are not beat up, they will hold 90-95% of their new cost, plus no sales tax! This value would easily increase to +100% due to supply and demand.

Of course there is the "High Point" exception rule!

Buying new is always out there as an option.

I guess some people think used is supposed to mean 1/2 of new. I've never seen any guns in a thrift store! Guns are a highly regulated item, the quantity available is limited and the market for them is limited to a certain class of citizen, they will always be a premium desired item.

Any one have an idea of the "ghetto" price for a Glock? My bet would be more than a grand.

That is not entirely true.

If you bought during the retardation, your gun may be worth half what it was new less than a year ago. If you just had to have a KSG when it was first released, your gun is worth about 40% of what you paid new. If you bought a plain jane wood grain hunting rifle in a store yesterday, it won't move for more than 80% of your purchase price anytime other than right before deer season.

If you bought an SKS 10 years ago it is worth 600% of what you paid new.
