If New Zealand does not have a constitutional right to own firearms, then it makes sense that only people that are law abiding citizens should have firearms.
And if you subscribe to “sovereign citizen” ideology then you are an anarchist.
You do not respect the legitimacy of government (any government, federal or local past present or future ).
You’re a scofflaw.
You won’t promise to obey the law, nor will you allow yourself to be arrested — any cop that tries to arrest you could be shot because in your view that is self-defense.
These people are dangerous and they should not have guns in New Zealand.
Now, if New Zealand has a “due process of law” doctrine THAT could form a possible objection, that they do not really, really subscribed to sovereign citizen ideology, and are not government hating anarchists.
Catch-22: these Sovereign citizens would have to recognize the legitimacy of the government and the court system to even raise an objection in court as to how the government is treating them as to gun licensing.
