Are you implying that auditory exclusion will protect your hearing in a self defense scenario or that you won't be able to hear bad guys anyway because of auditory exclusion?
I'm not implying anything. I'm making reference to the fact that once one would recognize a threat and begin to react, their heart rate would reach a level that a common occurrence would be to not even hear your own gunfire. Or at least a muted version of such.
Kinda like the big buck and a .308 w/o hearing protection? I never wear hearing when hunting, but I've never popped more then one round.
I've never hunted in my life, so I wouldn't be able to aptly answer that. Does your heart rate elevate that much when sighting in a nice buck? I honestly have no clue.
Possibly, but for a certainty you will suffer hearing damage if you discharge a gun indoor without hearing protection. Personally I'd rather take as many external factors out of the scenario as possible.
