No numbers on receiver, legal to sell?

Go to the ATF website and search for PMF
( privately made firearm) . The regulations changed in 2022 so there is still some confusion over the regs.

Apparently the regulations on privately made firearms are so complicated this page of ATF's website doesn't even attempt to explain it --it just says be careful and follow the law when dealing with these things!!!

My recollection from hearing about this issue a year ago through regular news was that privately made firearms could be sold only if they had manufacturers markings (name and city of residence of the builder) and a serial number.

And if the gun went through a dealer it would have to be registered in the dealer's book and the 4473 done and Brady Background Check law applied.

I don't remember what the new rule did regarding face-to-face private transactions between residents of the same state.

If it's an unfinished 80% lower, as in still in its 80% configuration, it doesn't have to have a serial number. When the 80% lower is finished into a 100% lower you have to put a serial number on it to sell it. At least that's the way it was at one time.
