No snake ID needed.

The last rattler I killed was 38" and almost as big around as my ancle. Thats a big killer..

The last rattler I killed...oh wait....I've never killed a rattler. First one I caught was in 6 flags park under a bench outside the Crystal Pistol though...little Dusky Pygmy. Security escorted me out the back gate, across the parking lot and I let it go down by the river.

That was a big Timber Rattler. I live outside of La Fayette neighbor kill one about half that size about 2 weeks ago. That was some good meat going to waste.

I like fried rattlesnake as well. Had I been able to line up the shot better, I would have not shot out her midsection when I took her head most of the way off. I was being quite enthusiasticly encouraged by my wonderful wife to "SHOOT IT!!!" And felt some urgency as it was about a foot away from disappearing into a mess of irrigation lines. Had that occurred I would have had to carry her to and fro between the house and the car during all non daylight hours, forever.

Tell you what, you send me (or we can meet) a snake hook and gripper, and I'll catch the next few. I plan on finding a few copperheads and rattlers week after next when I start moving old (extremely large) logging debris piles in troup co.
