No spare..

be glad you have air in you tires they started putting nitrogen in tires to stop barometric pressure from affecting and you have to pay for some to put it in your tires guess it is easier to charge us money to put nitrogen in the tires

If that's what they told you, they need to come up with a better excuse.

Changes in barometric pressure would affect air (which is 70%) nitrogen and nitrogen basically the same. If the tire is inflated to 35psi it will respond the same to changes in pressure regardless of what gas it is filled with.

Someone needs to brush up on Boyle's Law.

Some tractor owners put nitrogen in their tires because it's supposed to make them last longer, because there is no oxygen to oxidize the rubber. Even that it controversial about whether it makes enough difference to warrant the effort.

ultimate driving machine...

It's truly a money maker for the dealership! Incidentally, my parents last battery change in 2012 was $500 not counting the tow to the dealer and the locksmith to open the trunk. With inflation, I estimate the repair with tow and locksmith to be just under $1000. When your folks have dementia, sometimes they have a hard time parting with things which translates into paying auto insurance and taxes for a car that hasn't run since February 2016.
