The In God We Trust wasn't on any coins until I believe after the Civil War, Dont qoute me on it but it wasn't on coins from the get go. The placement has been all over the coin since. The back on some, above the head and in front of the head like on the original. So to imply that they changed the direction to have ol George turning his back on it is just goofy. I'm Just thankful A it's still on there and B they didn't give George lip injections, a hair weave, a neck tattoo and some gold teeth.

It was well placed on all of those. On this it looks like a complete afterthought. They squished the typeface and kerning to fit in there.

To be fair, it looked like an afterthought on the previous quarter as well
