I hate this sort of news. I hate that organizations even feel they need to spend taxpayer's money developing these things for these purposes. Seems there is an upshot, though. It's van-mounted and currently has a range of about 4 feet. So unless someone is humping the police van, they can't scan.

A) "It will make us safer"
B) "If you aren't doing anything wrong, you don't have anything to worry about"
