I just acquired a Bravo Company AR, The Jack HSP, which is truly awesome. I love it. When cleaning it today after a brief range outing, I had trouble getting the firing pin retaining pin (cotter pin) reinserted into the BCG body. Normally this is not an issue at all with the other AR's that I own, but this time I had a great deal of trouble getting it back into place. I ended up using a pair of long-nose pliers to wiggle it up at which time I could push it back into position. It all worked out in the end, but this has always been a simple thing that took a few seconds, not several minutes.

I did write to Bravo Company to ask them about it, and I am awaiting a response. Has anyone else run into this issue?

My current BCG has that problem, one of the cotter pin legs is bent more than the other.

Some of them are tricky to get in. Try inserting the pin in flat and then rotating back to vertical once it's in all the way. Several of my BCG't won't accept the key when trying to insert it vertical. There is a small almost like a feed ramp on the opposing side of the entrance that is cut on the nine o'clock position of the inside hole that guides the key in once it passed the firing pin.
Try that is am sure it will be a little easier that way.
However sometimes the key is just a real rear end and the two ends want to stay separated no matter what you do. So don't blame the BC it's just the key.

Actually I've seen it in NUMEROUS BCG's, it's not an issue at all.
Really just slide the Straight side one in, rotate the pin and use a small flat head, pin, anything that fits and reaches the other tab to apply a little pressure to push it past the lip. GTG no worries at all.

Not an issue. You can replace the cotter pin if you wish. But sometimes the legs are more open and you have to squeeze them together to get them started. Also, be sure that the firing pin is all the way forward while installing the retaining pin.

The issue was not starting the pin into the 1st hole but trying to get it into the 2nd hole on the opposite side that was a challenge. Again, I've probably done this on at least 8 BCG's of various brands from PSA to Daniel Defense to Windham to RCA to WMD, and I have never experienced this type of problem before. It is most likely the pin not being tapered enough. The spread of the legs of the pin do not look out of whack.
