The theory of child support is honorable. The application of GA law is nothing short of highway robbery. Having paid thousands of dollars per month and picking up my kids without shoes or shirts is proof of the ineffective nature of child support to actually provide for the needs of the children.

i have been to court a few times in the last year for a divorce and then 2 months later for modification of child support (following a wreck and my ex thinking i got a big insurance payout).

I have gotten all of the paper work back from the courts and in the child support worksheet there is another mans name listed as the father.

Any of you ever been ordered to pay child support with another mans name on the paperwork as the father? This is the first i have ever heard of this other person.

This is all very strange to me, as getting this in the mail is the first time i have ever heard of this man. I have recieved 3 copies of all of this, each spread a few weeks apart and all stamped with different dates, but all 3 with the same name in the box saying "father".

Sound like the Ex is exactly the HO that you thought she was all along. Good luck!

This is exactly the sort of thing attorneys are for! Maybe if that other guy establishes himself as the father, you would be off the hook. -Just a guess, but definitely worth a call.

Mine just ended in March. If you think GA is mesed up NY blows it out of the water. Almost went to jail once for a "clerical error". In NY support ends at 21 not 18, even though at 18 neither parent has custody or is a legal guardian. If your child attends college, god help you because no one else can.

I once knew an illegal immigrant who bought one of those buford highway flea market identities like so many of them do, well turns out the identity he bought owed child support. They came after him and he had to pay it and then because they found him, he could not get out from under the identity he had purchased. I think the kid was like 16 or something and he ended up paying the remaining 2 years of child support.

As far as the OP goes, you should really be asking your lawyer not a bunch of gun traders on the internet.
