Official ODT Silver Thread

well...hell....all those that pay out the *ss to buy those are just throwing their money away....as I would have thought....They are sold as a "limited" release, thus an attempt to generate buyers, which apparently works...Libertad's go for WAY more than Eagles!!! from dealers....AND buyers willingly pay!!
Correct me if I’m wrong, but libertads carry their excessive premium because they can be exchanged at mexican banks with a moving exchange rate unlike any other government minted coin. Still not worth it though imo

Kinda, they are popular because they are a beautiful and low mintage coin, especially the gorditas. Think 86 eagle numbers. And yes, libertads, like philharmonics and Krugerrands are non-denominational. They have no dollar value stamped on them like our ASE or AGE and everyone else's coins. As far as exchanging them at Mexican banks; I'm told only Mexican citizens can do that and it's cheaper to buy and sell them here, than try to exchange them, there.

Interesting news from Florida!!
APOKA, Fla.—Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed “transactional gold” legislation on Wednesday, aiming to help Floridians use precious metals in commerce and savings to protect their purchasing power from inflation.

The metals are now considered “legal tender” under state law, too, making them exempt from state sales taxes.

The new law also enables gold and silver of standard weight and purity to be accessed by electronic transaction using tools such as a debit card or an app, making it a functional currency.

I have an admission to make.

Up to this point I've purely been a weight guy when it comes to silver. My preferred is 10oz generic bars followed by whatever the cheapest 1oz rounds are at the time.

But saw this last night and caved to my better judgement.

And I ordered the 2oz variety. They also come in 1oz and 5oz.

They stack together in that one side is concave and the other side is convex. Kinda cool.

Got 'em from SD Bullion.
