I may break out the metal detector again cause digging 1,000 Pull Tabs & small pieces of foil might be worth finding a Gold Piece or 2 , + I need the exercise .
If I did that on our property, all I would find are thousands of slugs from us shooting down there. There is a large path of trees that none of us would ever take a chainsaw to behind the shooting range. However, I might have to get one just for the fun of it. I'll need one that is waterproof for the creek area. Any recommendations for a reasonable priced unit?

I'm not up to date on the best machines since 2020 , but an Garrett ATP ( In great used condition ) would be my suggestion , cause it is waterproof & can be used underwater ( when you get the correct headphones / of wireless ones these days ) ' used up to 10 feet underwater . With the HP's that come with it are water proof where they connect to the machine , so you can sit it in the water while you look for your target . A handheld pin=pointer will be VERY helpful , many are waterproof but the ones I used 90% of the time are water tight enough as long as they are not submerged . The Bullets will be a BIG Pain indeed , in metal detecting it's more about site selection than anything . & There is a learning curve , Buy according to your needs .

I hunted Civil War Items mostly but they have 90% been dug up on most private lands . Or the land has been developed . If I lived near the Coast or in the Old NE US things would be better . Or better yet go bav=ck in time to the 1950's-80's but if I did that I would just buy Gold & silver back then .

If it were easy to find Gold & Silver everyone would be doing it , so generally one has to have a passion for history & know the right people :grouphug:

With silver at $48, Im surprised my inbox is pretty quiet for folks selling stuff. Keep in mind the market is flooded, and it's going to get more flooded the higher it gets. Our local refinery is minus 2 on ounces, minus 1 on eagles, and in the mid 20sXFV on 90%, including Peace and Morgans dollars. Hope y'all are having a great weekend.

I figure the FOMO buyers will start stacking like crazy when it hits $50. Maybe you'll do good

Could be right, but my end I make close to the same amount regardless of the price. I'm still selling at about spot on most things. What's happening now is I am able to pay a higher percent. FOMO is very real for sure.
