Ok PSL owners school me on PSL accuracy. EDIT: Change of plan. Getting the Dragunov SVD instead.

I decided not to get the H-18 Dragunov. Just too much money. So I picked up a Century Romanian Cugir PSL 54. Do you think I can get 3 inches or better out of it at 100 which IMHO is good enough for deer hunting. I ordered some PPU 150 gr BTSP ammo for hunting. The firearm should be here next week.

What do you think about yours? Accuracy and such.

I can get that sort of accuracy from mine on a cold barrel. She tends to drift as that thin barrel warms up. Gas setting is important too….just open it enough to cycle properly without over-gassing. You might want to upgrade the scope if you decide to keep it….I found a mount that allowed me to have the scope over the center of the bore vs. off to the side and that’s made a big difference

Most shots on deer will be cold bore so not an issue on barrel heating up. I reckon.

I also watched a video where a guy melted the stock coating on his psl after only 50 rounds. Eeeek!!!

I was shooting one years ago. After about 40 to 50 rounds it was at least 6 to 8 moa.
