"Stupid is a more dangerous enemy of good than wickedness. Evil can be protested against, it can be exposed, if necessary it can be prevented by force. Evil always harbors the germ of self-decomposition by leaving behind at least some uneasiness in people. We are defenseless against stupidity. Nothing can be done here either with protests or with violence; Reasons don't catch; Facts that contradict one's prejudice simply don't need to be believed - in such cases the fool even becomes critical - and when they are inescapable they can simply be brushed aside as meaningless isolated cases. In contrast to evil, the stupid is completely satisfied with himself; yes, he even becomes dangerous by going on the attack, slightly irritated. Therefore, more caution is required towards the stupid than towards the wicked. Never again will we try to convince the stupid with reasons; it's pointless and dangerous" excerpt from Dietrich Bonhoeffer's work... "On Stupidity"
