open carry at Walmart AR15....

I have taken many people shooting who have never fired an ar or any gun for that matter and I teach them about firearms and the safe way to handle them, toting them through Walmart on your back will teach them nothing!

Sure it does. It proves that not everyone is out to kill them with an "evil black rifle".
If it was an everyday occurrence, people would get used to it, to the point of not even noticing them anymore.

I OC and CC depending on my clothing choice for the day and whats more comfortable for ME. I dont give a damn what other people think of my carry style. That being said, i personally never carry a rifle on me unless im at a gun store or the range. I do agree with this mans right to do this and I applaud him. While it may not be something I do, what if that one day arises where I would like to carry a AR into Walmart. What if I want to check to see if a sling will fit or maybe scope mounts or anything else. Why should his actions be demonized when they were legal and he himself did nothing to antagonize anyone else other than having his lawful weapon, lawfully on him. Some people here need to understand that the "just because he can, doesnt mean he should" mentality, need to think again. I can go 70MPH on the highway or I could go 40 and piss everyone off but it would be my right to do so. I dont understand how so many people that are part of the gun community are total snobs about carry style. If you dont want people to OC then go talk to your damn Senators and Congress and tell them how you are in favor of limiting how someone carries but you dont want them to infringe on your 2nd Amendment rights. Sounds like some people here are hypocrits. Either you want your full 2A rights or you support limiting them, simple as that. I dont agree with going out looking for a confrontation but I do agree with desensitizing the public. His AR didnt "assault" anyone and all he was doing is shopping. He did nothing wrong so good for him. Kind of surprising this happened in Texas though.

Pragmatic question: What if the guy was wearing a blue shirt and pants, had a gun belt with the usual police gear and a hat that had DPD on it?

Or:

What about when I walk into a gun store / range with my AR slung over my back, a range bag in one hand and an ammo can in the other? Why doesn't that cause a panic?

Perspective... we all need it.

If you saw this every day, would it help you warm up to the idea of Same Sex relationships?

Liberals are as upset by seeing guns as some of us are about seeing this...
