Opinions needed - Buying a new cooler

Actually given the weight of these high end coolers you almost have to keep them in the back of your truck all week. They are a pain to try to move. I saw a husband wife trying to bring thier Pelican 65 onto the beach last week and it was quite a sight. They wound up having to push/pull it through on sand. Given that it's 50lbs empty I'm sure it was well over 100 lbs. My Coleman extreme has wheels and an extra long handle and still weighs only 14 lbs. the weight savings is important to me because when I pack a cooler I usually have to move it a few times and I'm not looking for a workout.

I've started to post this twice and decided not to.....but here I am on round three. I guess I just don't understand the OP's need.

In my world, a cooler is for camping, fishing, or hunting. I guess I just don't understand why someone would need a cooler in their truck for an entire week as part of a job.

My needs are maybe a little different than the average person. I work in pipeline construction and cover a fairly large multi-county area. My job is to be on site for key activities, and I spend most of my day parked at or traveling between project sites. The nature of the work means that I'm missing lunch or eating at odd times. Sometimes it means working at night to handle projects that would otherwise screw up traffic. A broken gas main can add hours to my day. I keep a stock of snacks, water, Powerade, and a few sodas for for those unexpected times when I just cant leave a site, and for others aren't prepared. I should also mention - I don't have an office or cubicle anywhere - my truck my office, and I live in it during the week.

I forgot to pay this off. After reading all of your comments/recommendations I bought a Coleman Extreme. It's fully insulated and built solidly enough for my needs. I keep it in the back seat 24/7 and in the current heat it retains about 40℅ of the ice after 5 days. I usually fill it on Monday, drain off the water and refill on Thursday. It sits unopened in the truck over the weekend. It cost me $49, and for my current needs spending more doesn't make sense.

It really doesn't for most work. I kept an old Coleman under my tonneau cover for several years mainly so I could have a cold thanks to pass out to the crews. It seemed to me that constantly rotating in an assortment of warm drinks from the grocery store or the truck cab seemed to be the ice killer not the cooler itself.
I sure didn't need a fancy cooler to bounce gear, tools and materials off of in the bed of my company truck and the coleman held up as good as anything since I didn't need to stand on it or provide a seat for a 300#er. Keeping it in the back also helped keep fingers that I suspected may have needed locks to keep them honest out of my cab.

Just read your post and an almost exact job description match LOL

I've had this one for a few years and couldn't be happier. My son bounced it around in the back of a humvee down at Ft Stewart for 5 very hot days last month and it did great. I caught the 50L on sale online and used a coupon code they were offering at the time and got it for $110 with free shipping. Just watch Gander Mnts website around holidays.

I guess you know a bunch of booshie contractors. All the ones I know have a 5 gallon water cooler strapped to a ladder rack.
That's to satisfy th OSHA requirement of 40 oz of water per hour per person

The non germ-y water and Gatorade is in the cooler .....
