Unfortunately its not on my property but leads to it.

I understand your thinking/reason but in this case be very careful, the law unfortunately is on their side as for a dealing with you (non-owner) if you do anything on someone elses property, you will then become the "threat", not them in the eyes of the law. Good Luck ! EDIT: You say it "leads" to your property, do they actually step foot on your property ??
