Opinions or experience with cordless electric lawnmowers

I have a battery Weedeater brand string trimmer I got 5 years ago. I really like it.

It has 2 12V lead acid batteries and does all the trimming I care to do on one charge.

With the EPA carburetors on small 2 stroke engines, and ethanol laced gasoline, I have no desire to get gas powered anything these days.
True fuel for da win

I have an 80V Cobalt string trimmer and 40V hedge clipper. Love them enough that I am buying an 80V Cobalt chainsaw next.
My son can use the trimmer with no problems. No vibrations, no hard pulls to start.

I know of two people that have owned a total of three cordless, rechargeable lawn mowers.
Including $500 models that use the latest in battery technology, purchased just a few years ago.
And older models that used lead-acid batteries and Nickle-Cad or NiMh battery packs.

THE BATTERY LIFE IS ONLY GOOD WHEN THEY'RE NEW!

After a year of use, and even when you keep them charged or periodically discharge them and recharge them in the winter months (per the owner's manual's instructions), THE BATTERY LIFE GETS TOO SHORT TO FINISH CUTTING EVEN A QUARTER-ACRE yard.

So, both of these people gave up on such battery-powered mowers. One went back to a corded model, and the other hired a lawn service and doesn't do her own grass cutting anymore.

Hate my electric mower, Mostly cause it's the wrong size for my lawn. We bought it before we moved into the house we have now. I'd make sure the battery will last for the size of your property otherwise have extra batteries.

I've considered an electric weed eater, hedge trimmer. My yard is a monster and there is no electric solution for mowing. The idea of no carburetors or fuel seems like a wet dream!!! I say go for it if your yards small.

The yard at home is very small. The farm yard is huge so I still have an old zero turn and other powered Eq. I just want home to be simple and easy and no gasoline , oil leaks etc

Thanks I used a friends last night cut the yard in maybe 15 mins.

I moved to a new house last fall with a small yard. After 4 years of no yard maintenance, had to get a mower.

Got the Ryobi from Home Depot and been very pleased with it! Cuts my front and back in 15 mins, the lithium battery doesn't use more than 25% of the battery.

Awesome job on the lawn....... It does have gas like power. 5 YEAR WARRANTY!
