I have a friend who does not hunt but asked if I would take him and his son to our camp. He does not have a deer rifle and wants one his 10 YO son can shoot as well as him. I am thinking it is more for the son as dad is just wanting to go because his son wants to go. I am looking for a 336 at a reasonable price. I see them regularly from $350 up. I do not want to see him spend that for what might be several trips to the range but a short interest span for hunting.

I have already explained to him that he does not go to our camp without a hunter safety course.

What have you got? It does not have to be LNIB but would not want a beater either.

Do you ever get up on the north side of the perimeter around Cobb county? If so and you're still looking for a 300-30. I have a 336cs that maybe what you're looking for has a scope see through moments. Not the prettiest thing in the world. But Brian at Dobbs defense gave it a deep clean and a clean bill of health.
