I visited the area in 2005 in a trip to deals gap on my much loved YZF600R for a forum group meet.. fell in love with the area and wanted to move here since.. when I lost my house in a flood July 2006 it seemed like the perfect excuse.. I had after all already lost everything and had to start from scratch. My dad moved to nashville in 2000 and put me up for a couple weeks, Then my Aunt lynne who was living in Suwannee agreed to help me find a place. Moved to cumming for a while, made some friends in rome who I went drag racing with at paradise every weekend, then they decided to put me up for a couple of months so I could just move to this area and find a job since it would be cheaper to take a small pay cut and get into a less nice job (I was working as a mechanic in suwanee making $10/hr and went to work as a cashier at a convinience store for $7/hr. haven't been able to get a job as a shop tech since :() since rent was less in this area and I wouldn't be traveling as far every weekend.

I couldn't believe people I had only known for a couple months would let me stay at their place until I found an apartment I could afford. They helped me find a job (within a week of searching) before I started staying there, but it still floored me.

I'm originally from upstate NY. Spent a lot of time in Cooperstown and hate baseball because of it  I love me some hockey though :)

Born and raised in upstate NY farm country. After being stationed at Fort Gordon for the last 3 years I was in the Army, I knew there was not another place in this country that I wanted to live. Bought my house and plan on staying forever. Don't worry though. When I die i'll get cremated. Don't want any damn yanks polluting the ground down here.

The only other house I ever lived in is my parents, and they live 3.5 miles away from me. I don't really forsee me leaving Chattooga county. I like living in an area with a small population.
