Looking for a place to shoot. I live around Cumming Ga. Would like somewhere within 30-45 minutes of Cumming. Need at least 100-150 yards. Would be willing to pay for right to shoot a couple of times a month. Maybe an annual deal, renewable if agreeable. I'm not looking to hunt. Safety is always first. I've been a Range NCO and a Range Officer. What I bring in, I take out. Dont' drink. Just me and one friend.
I have checked into some of the local Gun Clubs. They are harder to get into than a sorority and long waiting list. If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate any info. Thanks for looking.

Charles Elliott WMA just built a 100yd range, but I bet it's pretty crowded during deer season. Never had any problems there and the RO's are always friendly

RBGC.org pretty much on the Forsyth/Dawson county line

You're welcome to shoot any of our venues without being a member.
Cost $20 for most shoots. Have non competitive and competitive shoots/
Many ranges including a 600 meter range.

PM me if you're interested and I'll take you up there as a guest to shoot whatever.

(I was also a range NCO, KMCAS 1981-1982)

Looks like about 45 minutes away. 75 yard range. That would be plenty for me. I only said 150 yards for my son's younger eyes. Doesn't sound bad. Have you shot there before? Pretty decent? I know some of the public ranges get pretty crowded. Thanks for the help. Haven't been here long. Still learning my way around.

Wilson Shoals is extremely nice. 75 yard range. I went once on a Weds Morning and it was near empty. The range master that day could not have been nicer. I spent as much time talking to him as I did shooting.

Wilson Shoals is quite a long drive from Cumming. From 400 at exit 14 it's probably 30 miles to Gainesville, and then another 30 north to the range.
It has about 80 yards of distance. There is a parking fee. Bring your own target stand (nothing metal, no wood behind the center of the target either).

I think Riverbend's "matches" are the best deal for 200, 300, and 600 yard rifle shooting. Scoped rifles can shoot "F-class" in the highpower matches, and every month there's a "hunting rifle" sight-in and long range skill test match (just for fun). Riverbend is probably 45 minutes from downtown Cumming.

Do they allow spectators? I'd like to just watch an event and see the place.
