Swap out the barrel. Boom no longer an issue. Barrels are expendable.
Anyway, don’t sweat it. It’s a beautiful rifle. Great find.
Easier said than done. This Belgium made SA22 was discontinued 45 years ago. Pretty hard to find an original Belgium made SA22 barrel floating around. And the Miroku plant made some changes to the model made in Japan starting in the mid-70's. Don't think the new parts work on the older gun. No other serial number found on the gun in any location. Since I already have the factory documentation concerning the serial number as shown on the barrel, plus the original sales receipt with the serial number, I'm gonna hang onto it, for a while anyway. Wonder if double stamped guns are like double stamped coins? Those go for many times the collectible value.
