nothese the same as maypops?
Hard to describe. Something like a cross between a papaya and persimmon? I don't care much for them, but my oldest daughter used to love them.I have always heard of these but never actually had one. Out of curiosity what do they taste like?

Back in Indiana we called them the Indiana banana. They're best when fully ripe, like black and near rotten is when they're sweetest. To me it's sort of like a banana custard with a hint of pear.
