Looking for some advice from folks that may have wired their utility light into their truck instead of using the 12v socket option.

I would like to wire mine to my truck (Ram 3500 (2019)). This truck is going to be used to pull a large 5th wheel so the magnetic shoe will be mounted on top of the cab.

Here is what I’d like to do:

I’d like to have a quick disconnect from the wiring that’s coming from a hot wire so I am able to leave the mount however can disconnect the light and store it when not needed.

Can some one help me understand how to do this as well as figuring out the best/ easiest way to permanently wire this light to the truck.

If you can list connectors to use and where to get them, this would/ will be extremely helpful.

Thank you all in advance.

Respectfully
Chris

This is what I got from the Google machine. Crimp the wires together on either side of the plug with a buttsplice connector and heat shrink to insulate and protect everything.
