We've got about a 3 year old cat that showed up back at the house last Friday with a gunshot wound to the front left shoulder. Took him to the vet today and they are wanting $970 to amputate the limb or $175 to euthanize. These fees are including the $120 we are already in for the exam and X-ray. The wife and kids like the damn cat, well I do too but having a hard time coming off the hip 1K (would have to use credit as I don't have that much free $$ laying around) what would you do?

yeh, you're gonna lose this battle, if the kids like the cat, you have to save it. because, it's not about the cat.

I have two dogs and I love them both but I wouldn't spend $1000.00 on either of them...especially if I had to go further in debt to do it.

My ex-wife spent $3000 on her cat that was crushed by the garage door. I would have too. Priorities and all that aside, sometimes the money is not there and you have to do what you have to do. But yea, dog or cat and I am able, it's done.

I'd cough it up. I've spent that on my pets before and will probably have to do it again. I'm checking a few contacts to see if anyone knows of a vet that performs nice acts in your area, will PM if I come up with anything. If you are willing to come to the metro ATL area I can definitely help in that regard.
