Pet shot and at the vet

Spent 4k on my Boxer when he got hit by a car...well a trailer behind a truck. If you like the cat cough up the dough. If not put it down and tell the kids and wife that he didnt make the surgery...

if it'll create a hardship i'd put it down. and maybe discuss with the family about whether the cat could have a decent life on 3 legs. very tough. if the vet would work with me i'd be more apt to try it.

^^^ sounds plausible.

I am not a cat person and while I would be relectant to shoot any living animal I do not intend to eat, I am getting to that point. Two of my neighbors are aiding and abbetting the feline population by providing shelter and food. No vet visits or vaccinations... just a **** ton a stray, feral cats plaguing my neighborhood.

I suppose I should at least give a courtesy call to animal control before loading up the henry with the Aguila Super Colibri.

Sorry about your pet... please keep them inside. Cats are no different than dogs and leash laws apply (at least in my neck of the woods) Good luck

We've got about a 3 year old cat that showed up back at the house last Friday with a gunshot wound to the front left shoulder. Took him to the vet today and they are wanting $970 to amputate the limb or $175 to euthanize. These fees are including the $120 we are already in for the exam and X-ray. The wife and kids like the damn cat, well I do too but having a hard time coming off the hip 1K (would have to use credit as I don't have that much free $$ laying around) what would you do?

I woulda never took it to the Vet. and just put a .22 rd. into it's skull.

jesus... and I thought I was harsh ^^^

hey you wanna come over to my neighborhood this weekend? You sound like the man for the job. lol

It sounds like your family is willing to cut back on other expenses to save this cat. There aren't many better things you can do if you believe in Karma. Being a hero to your wife and kids? Pretty special. I have 4 rescue dogs and 2 rescue cats. One of my dogs is my third Rotty. Each of my 3 Rotties had at least 2 orthopedic operations. The last one, (2012) and the most expensive cost me $4,200 that I really didn't have. I also had one of my dogs die in my arms in the back of a police car racing to a Vet's Office after being hit by a car. That was 12 years ago and there isn't a moment that I would not have gladly paid the Vet bill to keep him alive.

Just Do it!

You should shoot one. And get caught. And I can laugh my ass off at you when you get arrested and lose your right to own a gun for the rest of your life. All over a "cat".

This is a reasonable action. Prolonging it's suffering just to euthanized at the Vet and costing you $ isn't doing anyone a favor. Plus euthanizing a pet isn't always quick and painless. A 22 to the head may be the most humane.
