Pistol with built in laser ????

My Dad is wanting a home defense gun with a built in laser and I'm probably going to buy him one for Christmas. He is adamant about it having a built in laser. Any recommendations? He's wanting 9mm or larger.

I saw some deals for black Friday on a Beretta 92A1 with a green lasermax guide rod laser built in.

I think it was $700 or so.

You can add crimson trace grips to a lot of pistols and revolvers. Might open up his options if he is ok with those. The laser is built into the grip itself.

Doesnt get much more built in than that. Im surprised no ones bought it yet at that price and coming with the laser. Unless theres some bad reviews on the laser somewhere that Ive missed.

But dang they went up! I paid $72 shipped when I got it.

Not built in but after you snap it onto the trigger guard it looks factory installed. No issues either I'm just not a single stack 9mm guy

Lasers can be helpful as a training aid but are no substitution for solid fundamentals... especially on a gun intended for use in self-defense.
Anything electronic can & will fail when you need them most.

I couldn't begin to tell you how often people bring them to the range & either the batteries are dead, they are WAY off from the sights (for example in a class just 3 hrs. ago today the one on a mans Ruger LCP was a foot low & 8" to the right), or they forget to turn it on under the best of conditions much less at 3:00 in the morning when someone is trying to break into their house.

I would encourage you to go with him to shoot his new gun & make sure he can hit his target with the sights & then use the laser as a supplement to the sights instead of a replacement for them.

watched many people shoot with lasers and totally lose there funda "mentals" most couldnt hit the center of ...air... great if your a professional and use mostly as a deterent

Hint: Some of the Crimson Trace lasers or others that activate by squeezing the grip are way more instinctive (easy) to use under stress as opposed to the ones that require the user to push a (usually) tiny button to turn it on.
