Hunting hogs.
It's not that they're fearless. It's that they are having a good time doing what they do. Hog dogs are also selected for this trait.

I've obedience trained hog dogs and they are tough as nails, no doubt, but the reason they sit when told (even when they don't want to) is because they want to avoid the correction they'll get if they don't. That's fear of consequences.

So, not fearless.

Also, the vast majority of Pits would not make good hog dogs.
 
I wouldn't have one. What makes them more dangerous ( in my opinion) is that they have no fear.


My boy blue goes and hides under the table if I raise my voice, or simply ask him; did you do that?, if he does anything. He has fear for sure, and what I can only imagine, a genuine sense of not wanting me to be upset with him. He will come lay his head on my leg later on to say he is "sorry".
