Looks like we have a new neighbor. today was the second time I saw her in a bout 4 weeks. I didn’t have my phone for a snapshot but I looked it up. Looks to be a plain bellied water snek. She is almost 100% concrete grey in color and probably 4’ long and as thick as a 2 5/16“ hitch ball. She is definitely eating good and is FAST!! She disappeared under my garage fridge. Head is most def non venomous, I did see that. But she is thiiiiiiiick. No way I’m grabbing it.

Ill try and get a photo later this week. Very interesting.

I mean, I’m not real squeamish or whatever but after mowing grass and walking over to the fridge to get a drank…I saw that big ol nope rope and glad I was by myself. Wife would have had waaaay to much fun with that if she saw me.

Yep Plain belly or what sometimes called a Red bellied water snake. They often wander far from water. I had one rooting around in my flower bed a few years ago. I tried to catch it, thats when I figured out Im not as lightning quick as I once was. Nailed me on the hand.

The quick hands trick is to grab it by the tail and crack it like a whip, the head will disappear. Then step up to a venomous snake....
