Looking for a nice AK in either 5.45 or 7.62x39. Interested in the C39v2 (I can get one on preppergunshop for 700 shipped brand new) or a nice 5.45. I have cash.

You might be set on a C39v2, but I would reconsider. I would try looking for a WASR. Quality and Century don't really go together, but some of their imported stuff is better, like WASRs. Look up AK discussions on the ODT to try to find that " nice" AK you seek.
I'm open to trying something new, but you'd be the first person I've heard say the C39v2 isn't good. Rob ski from akou had nothing but good things to say about it. I'll certainly check on the wasr, though. thanks!

Just giving you an alternative (maybe cheaper). Again if you are getting into AKs, just like any gun, you need to do a bit of homework. Last thing I want a new owner to do is load up a mag and find out the barrel doesn't point where the sights are due to no QC / lack of manufacturing standards.
There are several options to be had in your price range though. Happy hunting.
