I honestly wonder. But as mentioned, it was encrusted on an active erosion spot.
Most of quartz points were made before the Cherokees according to what I have read . Yeah I found a lot those really not even looking for them. ( just wish could find gold nuggets like that )
Definitely an arrowhead, congrats. I have spent years artifact hunting. I have probably 1,500 perfects and boxes of broken one's. I've found some pretty cool stuff. The coolest thing I've found was a war club tomahawk head, it still has red paint of some sort on it. It was picked up about a half mile from the Etowah Indian mounds.

The chirt or flint we find is usually redish. Maybe a pale yellowish. This grey color reminds me of points from the midwest.
Very nice. Those are awesome. Ive found one quartz in a lifetime around here. Maybe 2 , where?? Lol
