New here,but already I've been asked by a few folks to explain the User Name "Nastytater". So here goes and I just hope ya'll aren't too disappointed.
Back when I was just a young Tot. I hated going to school. So I'd make up whatever excuse I could to lay out. Momma has heard every excuse in the world from a youngun to get out of doing something but it was always the same. She'd get mad and throw a fit and threatened to tell my dad,but by lunch time she'd always calm down and ask if I was hungry and fix me some lunch. Well,one day she asked me (youngest of 4 boys) if I was hungry and wanted to know if I wanted a baked tater. ( I LOVED taters) so I jumped all over it. I'm not sure,but I believe this was about the time Microwaves first came out or atleast New to my household so that made me around 7-8 --years old. I was watching "The I love lucy show" while mom went into the kitchen and all we had was a small tater left to bake. So she punched some holes in it and put it in a microwave safe glass bowl,set the timer for 1:50. Came into the living room and started watching the show with me. After about 10 minutes we heard a loud POP and I looked up and saw smoke coming out of the kitchen. Mom and I both responded "The Potato" & I jumped up and ran into the kitchen. Unplugged the microwave,opened the door and the tater was on fire,and the roof of the microwave was melting down on the tater. When I opened the door,this nasty stink came out and caught me square in the face of burnt tater and burnt melted plastic. I said "Ewww,Nasty". Later,mom asked me if I still wanted a baked tater and my reply was "NO,I don't want No Nastytater." The name has stuck ever since. :-)
I guess I failed to mention that mom knows better now than to set the time and assume it was set correctly. Some how,instead of 1:50,it turned into 15:00. Taters in a microwave,especially small taters shouldn't take that long to cook.
