I would add one other piece of advice. Most smartphones embed location data in photos. They use the GPS chip in your phone to append the geolocation data (Lat/Long) to the meta data of the photo. I would use an exif removing app to strip that data out before you post. Otherwise you could be exposing the lat/long for your home for example.
This is good advice. One thing you can do to strip the data without an app is take a screenshot of the photo. No location is stored within a screenshot.

That function can be turned off within the phones as well, at least with iPhones.
