In a more civilized age, it was not uncommon at all for male members of a woman's family to escort her to social events. It is a shame that now it is unusual enough to warrant a news story. Good for this young lady.

The entire story. That a young lady is that selfless and that appreciative of family, particularly that generation, to take him. I'm sure most girls her age are more preoccupied with who left One Direction.

Unfortunately this wouldn't be possible at my old high school. You can't bring anyone more than 4 years older to a prom.
