I'm planning to buy my first gun. I'm looking for a 9mm, and came across the Sig p250. I picked the gun up at the shop, and loved the feel of it. I've read reviews on other sites with both people who love them, and people who hate them. Does anyone on here have anything to say about them? I have a buddy who told me to be skeptical of guns with interchangeable calibers. Anyhow, what do y'all think?

Thanks!

You just have to remember that anytime you pay 300 for a gun you're getting a 300$ gun..Granted sig is a good name that makes reliable products, but you're probably getting one that doesn't have all the nicer features of a good sig. IMHO its better than getting a taurus hi point or some other cheap gun, but it'll do it's job of protecting you. You're not gonna get much back out of it and it's not gonna be best of show in anything, but it'll do it's job of protecting you reliably. You may have a heavy trigger pull and a few other things you don't like about it, but then again, that's why you paid 300 for a gun. It's all in what you like to be honest with you. IF you like the gun and the way it feels, get it. You're getting sig quality at an affordable price. As far as interchangeable calibers, don't worry. If anything happens as a result of interchanging calibers the manufacturer is held responsible for replacements, and people have been doing caliber exchanges on glocks for years with no malfunction.. Except with sig you're replacing the whole slide assembly instead of barrel and recoil spring. The frames are usually rated to handle all calibers that platform is designed to handle, which is why the slides are interchangeable.

I've had three P250s and all were reliable and quality builds. I disagree with the "cheap" connotation. They suffer from long trigger pulls and longer resets, past that I would trust them as much as any other Sig. They WERE overpriced and the lack of sales has corrected that. If you like the trigger, than it's a good deal right now. Sig is offering their X-change kits for $199 this weekend which is a good deal if you want another caliber. The night sights alone on the kit are worth half the cost.

that being said, i agree with you 100 percent. i just bought a p250 2sum at very reasonable price and love it and the ability to convert to any model or caliber i wish. i have the 9mm and purchase an 45 compact exchange kit for it. now to just waiting for delivery.
