After the walkie talkies and pagers blew up, this is the aftermath....

I got a pm from a member that posted his number on my ad saying he sent a $100 and needed shipping info.. never talked to the individual and still haven't he was a very new member that joined the same day.
since day one I only deal in PM's my number only go out after a meet has been set.
I love the Odt but the scammers have gotten crazy! It might be time to be a member only site. No dues no site access. That will stop 95% of the scammers.

I've been saying this for a year.....
I'm sure there's at least one in every area code now days.
Grandfather all current members and all new potentials member will have a joining fee. (Browsing is free but to reply or message will require membership) It will also get rid of multible accounts for one person.
(I had a member tell me he sent the message from the Wrong account)

There a some forums that have requirements, monetary or other, before a new member can join or post an item in the classifieds or make a purchase. Those sights have very low traffic.
