Man, I sure don't need this but isn't this a great deal? I've got a spare BCG and CH.
Admittedly I'm an AR snob and only have Noveske and Daniel Defense. However, for $299 and an FN barrel, how could it be bad? At the end of the day for my level of skill this $300 upper would be every bit as good as my $1200 ones. All the reviews are positive from what I can tell. The barrel probably isn't CHF, but I believe it's made of the same thing as DD and Noveske barrels but doesn't have the "double thick" machine gun steel of Noveske for whatever that is worth.

That's a good point, but the rifle kit is $200 more and I don't believe it uses the FN barrel. The $300 upper I might be able to justify more as an impulse buy than a full-on rifle build!
