1974 Colt Gold Cup... Is it worth less with the Bomar full length rib sights on it? I mean, the gun was drilled and tapped at least 3 times to mount it. Does it add value or detract?

Really depends on the buyer, but generally speaking, it will hurt the value. If someone were to buy it for bullseye competition they might not care since most shooters these days are mounting rails for red dots anyway.

^^^This

If you found a buyer that wants that setup you've hit gold...otherwise it's a classic desireable Colt 1911 that someone drilled holes into ruining the collectable value...

What do you guys think this gun would be worth. It's blue, factory wood grips, and in pretty good shape. Has the Bomar rail attached, and comes with Colt's "ace" .22 conversion in the box with one mag in each caliber. It is NOT modified in any other way. I can post pics of it when I get home tonight....

Collectors love those Colt Ace conversions. They are going from $500-$700 depending on condition. Dont mistake the price with it being a great conversion. ANY modern 22 conversion will out shoot the ACE hands down, its just a collectable.

So, modified GCNM, no box or tools $700-$1000 for a total of $1200 to $1500 ballpark. I hope that helps. What 04 RT said is of course true, just depends how bad someone wants it....

Rocko taco, that's not being a jerk, it's just tellin' it like it is...an under appreciated virtue nowadays. I haven't bought it yet, we seem to have a different idea on the modified pistol value. If I do buy it, it would be one of those that I'd just rather hang on to for about 50 years or so. Thanks for all the input fellas, this is really a great sight!
