I'm looking for a good quality semi / full auto airsoft gun to shoot in the backyard and for cat control. Prefer a rifle, but would consider a nice pistol as well. I've owned a bunch of the spring powered and even a few battery powered guns but nothing that was more accurate than about 10 feet. I'm not looking to be in a league or anything, I just want something I can shoot 75 feet accurately and plink off the back deck and run off annoying cats. I don't want to spend a fortune, but I want something nice and don't know what to look for (AEG, metal gear box........it all gets confusing). Anyone got any suggestions?

I have a umarex steel force M4. C02 powered, Shoots semi and full auto, holds 30 bbs in the tube and has a huge hopper. shoots well and is enough to run off a large dog that used to run around my property.

I work at SS Airsoft during Special event days.( Buford GA) for my buddy that no-body likes! I work there for free so he lets me have Dog Rescue events. But, I always have used airsoft guns for sale at good prices. I also run the Airsoft SWAP MEETS, got that from ODT. Where all airsoft guns on my Tablet are 50% off. My son spent about $5,000 on airsoft then quit playing. I got stuck with a few M-60 and Russian Machine guns that I gave away to kids who could not afford them. Any questions I can meet you at SS or tell me what you want and I will look for you.

I have a Taurus PT92 (Umarex I believe), that's semi and full auto, CO2 powered. All metal and made and functions much like the real gun. Around $80.
I don't have one, but the Steel Force sounds like a good match.
You could also get a full auto MP40.

I have a nice Tavor Airsoft rifle. It's electric, has a MOSFET and Lipo battery, but can use NiMH as well. Upgraded spring, piston, gearbox has been shimmed, etc...

It's over the power limit of most indoor ranges... It shoots like 415fps with .25g ammo and around 430fps with the .20g stuff that they chrono your gun with.

For outdoor plinking and pests it is perfect. With the Lipo batter it fires 20 bb's per second.

It's an Elite Force with the above mods and tweaks done by Sam over at Infekted Armory... I got out of airsoft and would give you a hell of a deal on it. Has a few mags, I think they hold 250 or 300 bb's each...

I dabbled in airsoft when our group of friends became competitive in paintball. Tokyo Marui was the gold standard at the time, and by all accounts is still one of the best. Most companies have created guns that can use their parts interchangeably so that should tell you a good bit. That said, I bought from ICS (a new company at the time) and was completely impressed. It was the MP5SD, all metal construction and had an easily serviceable 2 piece box. Out of the box we chrono'd it at an ~362fps with .2's before any hopups. By the time I was done mine was much like Squire's above, too powerful for any indoor ranges. I will say however that it was extremely accurate, as I let a co-worker play with it and he took some ill-advised pot shots at me while I was at work one night. From about 40 yds he hit me square in the ass and it felt like a yellow jacket had stung me even through my jeans. It was great for squirrels and the like as well.

Mine is listed on ODT now. One thing about mine, it has a quick-change spring system, so in 60 seconds you can drop in a lower rated spring to make it indoor range legal, and then save the M130 for rodents or outdoor playing fields.

I had a bolt action spring sniper rifle for awhile. I had to use the really heavy .43g ammo to get it to fly straight, and even those were at 435fps.

At 10 yards, it would drill through BOTH sides of a soda can. A soda can full of soda. Right through it.

Because of that we had a strict no shooting anyone less than 25 yards, as it would break the skin under that.

We had a mishap one day and it cost my wife her front tooth. The dentist was happy, we weren't. LOL

Sounds awesome and looks cool too. I am thinking of an M4 rifle so that it will be similar to my defensive rifle, but I may wind up getting with you on the Tavor.
