Found a Chilean Mauser 1893 that has the correct serial number, lack of Chilean Mauser writing and curved bolt which by all sources purports it to be one of 4000 Mausers destined for the ZRA Boer government in South Africa but was blocked by the British Navy during World War I and sent back to Germany and then to Chile. It appears not to have been refinished and all matching except bolt which is from another Mauser with the appropriate serial number indicating it to originally be to another Boer Mauser....I hear this is more common than not on these.
Anyone have familiarity with these? Value?
